I'm hoping they lose, and once they do, I'll be laughing at the deadly serious football conversations taking place and the bitter disappointment radiating throughout wherever I am at that time.

I f***** cannot stand football, and the blind cattle “if you don’t like it you must be a f@gg0t” attitude that surrounds the sport.

No, I don’t like it. It bores me. I couldn’t give a damn if we do well, or even were allowed into the Euro 2004 competition in the first place.

This coming from a Geordie, one of the people who is supposed to eat / drink / sleep / beat the wife up to the Shearer chant / live football?

You betcha...................

I've better things to do.

[edit]Supposed to be in general chat. Can't be bothered to repost.

I don't like football, either.

Topless, oiled, young, nubile female boxing on the other hand ...

It's just as valid as posting about liking football.

That's not the point. Football isn't some overriding power that apparantly unites the nation and channels patriotic fervour.

It's presented as such, but many people evidently don't feel that. It's a sport, not a war (well, at least a war fighting Nazis or something).

The same as moaning about Big Brother I guess.

If you don't like it then it is pretty much tough, because it's going to be pushed down your throat for a few weeks.
