Go on, do it. Do it now.

England fans riot for the 2nd night in a row. What a surprise. I mean, I really thought that those banning orders and the co-operation between English and Portugese police would have prevented any trouble. No, wait, I didn't because this happens every single time.

See:

Burberry moron horde + beer + dirty foreigners taunting Burberry moron horde with their 'faaahny langwidge' and sophisticated ways = FIGHTS, BOTTLINGS, FLYING CHAIRS & UNPROVOKED ATTACK

And, surprise surprise, it's not the English fans fault. Burberry mouth opens: "Nah, guv'nor, nuffink to do wif us. Them police on their 'orses dun it. Truncheons flyin' everywhere. Bish bash bosh, right on me balls - how am I gonna impregnate my own sister now? I wanna breed more little hooli...FANS, you know? Bleedin' foreigners! I'll kill 'em, kill 'em all."

But there's more. BBC reporter - impartial, even-handed BBC reporter - talks over footage of mounted police dragging thugs from the riot:

"But there's blame on both sides."

No there bloody isn't! A mob of drunken thugs start flinging tables through windows. So that's England fans, not the police, who are breaking the law. The police have to respond. I've seen hooligans in action, there is only one way to deal with them, and it isn't saying, "Oh, so you've been throwing tables, intimidating and attacking people. Well, that's not very nice but let's think about WHY you threw that table. Let's talk about your feelings and your troubled childhood. Why are you biting me?"

Hooligans in a group want a fight, and they'll pick one with inanimate objects, innocent bystanders or the police. And once they have picked a fight then I've got no problem with the police charging in to protect innocent people and their property. If some gormless lout gets truncheoned upside the head and lands in hospital then good, he deserved it. And if some innocent England fan also gets truncheoned upside the head then...well, ooops, sorry mate, but ask yourself this: what were you doing in a mob of baying hooligans? It's blatantly obvious when trouble is about to kick off: walk away, find another bar.

But this happens every time. And unless something changes then we'll see the same riots and fights in Germany in 2006 - because England get followed around Europe by violent, intimidating thugs.

So kick England out of the tournament. People might learn their lesson. Not the thugs, who are incapable of learning, but the other people, who tolerate English supporters singing "I'd rather be a p*ki than a Turk". Kick them out. Kick them out. Kick them out now.

It wouldn't matter if we could stop every single English hooligan going to these tournaments anyway. Because there are Hooligans from other nations as well, mix that with drink, and there's still going to be some violence and no doubt some English fans will be caught up in it. It just takes one person to hit somebody, then their friends react and all hell breaks loose. Then we're back to square one, and since English people would be involved, England would be blamed again. It's a lose lose situation really.

I disagree with you. Only the minorities cause trouble, they should sent them to prison for a year to teach them a lesson.

As much as I enjoy football, and would love England to progress further in the competition, I'm inclined to agree with you here.

Not only does it make me (more) ashamed to be an Englishman, it makes me ashamed to like football. My only worry would be that penalising the England squad wouldn't matter a jot to the moronic hooligans, because as everyone knows, they're not really fans of the sport anyways.

Wonder how many times this has to happen before UEFA start to realise the cold, hard facts - England being in a tournament pretty much guarantees crowd trouble.

Chuck 'em out.

The past, ahh right, the genius past.

We won the world cup in 1966, that makes up for all the failures since then? Right?

Okay then, answer this with regards to the original post.

Do you care about racism? The fact that the English FA has actually made the biggest attempt in Europe to stamp it out of domestic football. The fact that players still get spit on in the Italian leagues because they are black, does this get plastered all over the news? No.

The riots, do they? Yes of course they do despite all other nations being part of it in one form or another on a regular basis (including Euro 2004 by the Italians after their draw with Denmark), but no, we have some moron saying just kick the England team out of Euro 2004 because some morons throw a few bottles and then get battered by riot police.

Lets take it back to the original point if you are so keen to stay on track.

I'm thinking most people care more about the innocent bystanders and businesses that suffer because of them. It's not as simple as saying all the bad people get locked up, problem solved. There are repercussions.

God, it's like trying to have a conversation with a less caring Forest Fan. I can't be bothered to talk with you anymore.

No.
But the innocent Portuguese who get caught up in it I do.
It's disgusting that you believe it's ok.

Albufeira is a beautiful little place - it's disgraceful that it has unfortunately fallen subject to these riots, and even worse that you seem to deem it acceptable.

Fricking hilarious.

Other countries police forces should take a leaf out of the Japanese and American police forces book, EXTREME PUNISHMENT! The Americans can beat up their criminals or shoot them if they are given 'just cause' and the Japanese police force uses taser guns! Our police have choccie bars in their gun holsters, most of them are as corrupt and thick as the hooligans themsleves. If the police can't change their methods of punishment or crime deterrent then by all means remove England from Euro 2004, it'll teach all those little sh1tes who fight for no reason.
