My personal view is that England will win.
I also think we stand a real chance of the title.
Feel free to pop this if we plummet out, but know that if you "diss" me and my "mamma" that I will pop it when we win.

I've just said i think France will win, exactly how am i 'blinded by patriotism?' :-P
But I know we've got that chance, which i'm clinging onto.
France need to win this, because there's more at stake than just an old rivalry here. If France don't win, then it'll trigger memories of the World Cup 2002 in which they didn't score a goal or gain a point. They need to defeat England to show that once again they are the real deal when they need to be. Their determination will be 100%, and when you're talking about France in this way, they'll beat anyway.
If England make me eat my words a week from now, then fair enough. But it won't happen. :-)
> So should we.
Please, do shut up.
Owen and Rooney should have the pace advantage over the aging french defence so it'll be down to Sol and Terry to keep Henry and Trezeguet under wraps and Gerrard and Lamps to boss the midfield. Keep Henry and Zidane quiet and we've won basically, or at least draw
France, had they been in that situation, would have walked away winners by more than 10 goals.
So should we.
I'm still a little confused at why Sven hasn't given Cole and Bridge a chance to play wide left together though. Two defenders, with such talent and an accurate delivery when going forward should get another chance to play together. It'd give us the natural width that Gerrard didn't offer against Japan, although I must admit I was most impressed with Paul Scholes' efforts wide today. They haven't been given a chance since Macedonia, and now it'd be risky starting that way against France.
Can we beat France though? Hmmm, well they are such a good force, if they can unite together as well as us then I think they will overcome us, or at least force a solid draw. However if, with their new manager departure, they cannot gel together quick enough, then I think we could well hit them where it hurts. I think Rooney and Owen will really get at their centre backs, although we do lack aerial height that can feed off Beckham's crosses.
We'll see. To be honest it may come down to whether Big Sol and Terry (I assume they'll start) can keep Henry and Trezeguet quiet. If the back four have a good game who knows what could happen. I'll remain as optimistic as I can, even though deep down I think we'll probably get beaten.
