Hmm, medical science shows us that the unborn child starts off as female in makeup and that male features appear much later on in the womb, indicating that man actually comes from woman. Indeed we are all born of women obviously as well. This idea of woman coming from men seems more like the Bible mandating a society that wanted to make out women as subordinate and property of men. I think the Bible is a social history of the ancient near east at best.

RBS, I'm trying to understand your questions, but in Genesis 1 and 2, I can't see any contradictions. If you would like to highlight some verses in them, I would be happy to address them.
