Most of you probably don't know that I and others who I invited complained to Off Com about the then, forthcoming program by Derren Brown, when he conducted a live seance.

I purposely didn't urge anyone not to watch the program, as I thought this would only increase the chance people would watch it.

Anyway, good to see that we managed over 700 complaints in the end.

I just hope, nothing like this ever takes place on our screens again.

Surely you, knower of all truths, would realise - like normal, rational people - that seances are fake; and as such, nothing to complain about.

Complaining about something suggests you believe it's real. In which case, you're a biger nobjockey than Derren Brown himself.

What I find amusing is that some Christians (I think it's most Protestants) actually use the evidence of paranormal events, such as the Communion of Saints, to justify their beliefs about the afterlife.

Also, isn't it a Christian belief that Jesus was a medium for God?

Yes, I know. It doesn't excuse why a program, advertised as it was, was ever broadcast.

Exactly. A point sadly missed by Forest Fan, and all the other short-sighted religious groups who complained before the show was even aired.

but you know the "live seance" wasnt real, right? In fact, the whole show was to dismiss any myths about seances or any of that being true!
