Malcolm in the Middle did very poorly when showed to a test audience, then went on to become a massive hit with the general public. I see The Office as being similar, although it depends on the quality of the remake, of course.

I rather enjoyed Dinnerladies.
Blackadder was often inspired, but the earlier ones pretty patchy as you said.
OFAH makes me sad. I fail to see how people can like it.

And shame on all of you for not even mentioning Spaced.

Dinnerladies is crap.

Blackadder is good, but nothing great and somewhat inconsistent. One of the earlier series was really rather dull.

just because it's the most popular doesn't mean it's the best.
it's got the largest target demographic, but it's by no means the best comedy.

Good point. All my friends start saying "ass" instead of "ar$e" etc. It's quite depressing :0(

Thats the beauty of it, it also powers the deep fat frier, over, tv, microwave, massager-chair and smoke machine/exhaust.
