Being 18 years of age and living at home with my parents means pretty much 100% of the money I earn is disposable income. I earn my money from my part-time weekend job at my local Volkswagen dealer. 'Tis good fun, but the money isn't amazing and it naturally eats up my weekends!
And now a mate of mine tells me he runs a website and is making silly money...like £2000 a month off it, without it requiring overly time-consuming attention (i.e. updates).
So, I was just wondering...are there any of you lot running websites for profit? What sort of sites are they, how successful are they, and how long has it taken you to get where you are?
Thanks in advance,
UA

Fool, not to his £2000 a month, but to the annual income of £24000! I pro rata at just under £28000

It's not exactly a couple of days a week! It's normally a full time job when you start to make 'proper' websites with complicated stuff.

Stop it now, its just getting tedious, and you didn't even code the site yourself, you used the freeweb page builder.

No idea how much money he makes, but must be a fair amount. I've been to his house and seen all the stock he has... thousands of CDs... And there's a pretty decent message board attached to his site, that is growing all the time.
I can't say I've made much money. I've just bought in some new stock, and because of the cost of all the new stock I bought, I've yet to break even. Before the new stock was bought I had pretty much broken even, hopefully the summer will mean more people will want T-shirts anyhoo...
But I dunno if you meant making money simply from the websites...? I mean both myself and my mate are actually selling stuff as opposed to just making money through our sites (ie. through advertising space and suchlike). So no idea if this is what you meant...
