"He immediately offered his resignation which we have accepted." i know it's the right way to go, but the statement did sound a little "funny", not really the right word. i can't say i've known of his career, but if it's true that he seemed to make an effort to include black players, then it may not cause much trouble people as it was only the eastern countries who saw it. i am completely against racist comments, as they're such a cheap shot since there is nothing that the victim can do to change and nor is it his fault. desailly was to blame for rallying on the ref and elbowing morientes. However, whatever the racist comment was, has to be undeserved.

do you actually know what the comment was? whether it was dodgy, or plain stupid? doesn't change anything now, but at least i can judge what i think.

I doubt that quitting is the right term- it's more like he was forced to resign after someone heard him.
