I'd never seen this before until yesterday. It was one of those films you hear about, they're always getting put in people's top 10 greatest films lists and suchlike - but I never bothered looking into it until a mate recomended that I bought it when we saw it for £4 in leeds.
Watched it last night and it's pretty damn great. Excellent story of friendship and stuff without being too soppy and over-dramatic. Nice balance of violence and humour with morals and meaning.

Aye, t'is a great film. Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman are both absolutely superb. I have a teacher who looks like the warden.

Another good quote is "he's just dissapeared like a fart in the wind!" I'm not too goo at remembering quote 100% correctly but i'm sure that is almost right.
