I (you guessed it) forgot. Cue nearly catching fire as oil ended up all over the engine block on my way to work yesterday, a 20 quid cap replacement cost, and no way of using the car for the next two days while the damn thing comes through the post.
Again. Replace the cap anbd save yourself pain and heartache............................

It isn't as dangerous as you may think. When I was a nipper my Da did it all the time. He still does.
EDIT - I should have mentioned he burnt to death last week when the petrol caught fire.

Pah! Mines an oil guzzler. It needs a litre of oil approx ever 500 miles. Frequently more like. Damn, I hate that car..............

sprayed oil all over the engine bay of my beloved camper it did. luckily, due to it being a bit of a heap, i was on good terms with the local VW garage so they popped the engine out for me one weekend so i could get inside and clean it all up again :)

Bloody is! I forgot to switch it off because the girlfriend was giving me a load of earache at the time so I just got out of the car as quick as I could. It was only when I saw the exhaust puffing away that I realised what I'd done - or not done as it were!

Bwhahahahahaha. I was trailing a cloud of thick white smoke along the motorway. I couldn't help but NOT notice ;)

Heh, mine is actually attached to the tank, no chance of that. The oil cap though, I wish was too. It would have saved me so much trouble.

Never left my engine running. Sounds dangerous.
The only cap I've lost was off the screen wash tank. Not exactly a big threat.
I did leave my engine running while filling up once though :S
Shat myself when I realised!
