As some of you may know ive been having a bit of a struggle on the broadband front, being in a rural area and all. So my brother and i resorted to registering people from the phone book, we got our registration barometer up to 290 (trigger 400) when we ran out of names. So my brother got out the phonebook again and got another 20 or so names to add, we checked the current registrations figure before we added the new names to see how close we were getting....

Only for the barometer to be gone and in its place is a pop-up that says "good news - your exhange will be broadband enabled before the 4th of august 2004". Cue the celebratory dancing and a trip to adslguide.org to see if they could shed some light on what just happened.

Apparently our exchange is part of a Scottish Lowlands Partnership, i dont know any more details than that, but to be honest i dont really care, im getting broadband and thats all that matters.

If there are people out there who still havent met their trigger, dont despair. There is always hope. :)

Yeah 150K is plenty. The ping would be the same as the 600K service, but the 600K allows you to download at a faster rate. If your sharing the connection with more than 1 PC then when someone is using the internet on another computer you would notice more of a drop in ping than if you had 600K, but if its just you then you wont need to worry.

I used to have 150k before we upgraded.

It'll be suitable enough for fragging on UT2004.

Eclipse looks awesome.

They seem to surpass pipex and still come in a tad cheaper.

They illegally charged you.

Sue 'em.

My experience of AOL, apart from the prices, slow speeds, non-existent customer service and the assimilation of Windows into the AOl software, was not bad actually.
