Steven Gerrard - Not lost a game with England in 21 internationals. Until today, when he was captain.

Oh so amazing eh Stu?

This kind of cancels out your 'Gerrard is better than Lampard cos he is unbeaten in the England team'. He lead them, we lose.

Nice one Stu ;-)

Technically, England never lost when Gerrard was leading England, because he was subbed before they scored =)

I think not kiddo.

Am i right in thinking he struggled for periods to get into the West Ham team a while back?

Gerrard's still a great player; he just isn't the right kind of man we need as Captain. I still doubt David Beckham's "qualities" in this area, also.

Really, I feel it should go to someone like Sol Campbell - an experienced man at the back with a good view for all that's going on and a very authoritable position on the pitch.

Gerrard's doing well for Liverpool, but, like we've all heard before, club-level is a completely different ball-game... Especially when all your other team-mates are a load of 'tarded French First Division flops! :P

Someone please explain to me: How exactly did the French manager decide Bruno Cheyrou was a better choice for the left-wing over Newcastle's Laurent Robert?!?

Defoe came closer to scoring than anyone and had a great game, even Sven admitted this before he said he wasn't going to Portugal.

At Wes**t Ham Joe Cole was a few nice touches in a sh*t team. Now at Chelsea, he's no better, no worse. He's s**till the same player, he's jus**t not heads and shoulders above the res**t of the team.

Erm did you see the chance? It jus**t suddenly came to him and he had to try and flick it in with his heel.

Did Defoe score? No. How long was he on for? A long time.

So, he's getting a ton of money for doing sweet FA and just showing up to play in a game every month or so. I wish i had that sort of deal.
