"A foetus with a serious genetic defect should be aborted"

If a foetus has a serious genetic defect (its life will be comprised of sitting in a chair and drooling) do you think a compulsory abortion should take place?

In the majority of cases couples aren't careful enough, the mother decides she doen't want the baby, so a doctor crushes the baby to pieces and then drags the dead carcass out of there.

No, but this isn't the case with many abortions in Britain today is it?

Abortion is never ideal but it is sometimes the best available option. I believe that life begins when the heart starts beating in a foetus. This is a stereotypical image of life, and implies that the foetus has the resemblance, and some life requirements of humans. I think ANY abortion is acceptable up to this point point. Also, it would be unfair to deny a woman her right to abort an unborn child as a result of rape. How would you like a child that you couldn't love because every day it reminded you of how somewone brutally took advantage of you? Further more, how would you feel if this happened to your wife?

If a mother has cancer half way through her pregnancy, she should have the option to abort and get treatment, and not risk leaving her child without a mother, and doing harm to herself. I believe this as it will just cause pain and suffering for more people.

Do you think putting a womans life at serious risk is right for a baby that won't lead a normal life anyway?

Why the hell would someone who's seriously crippled, mentally and physically, who can't speak and can't even take a dump without someone helping them want the Lord in their lives?

These people are children of the Lord, some even get better and make a real go of lives. Others can still learn about the love of the Lord. Essentially, they can be great evangelists, people can see how these deformed children have accepted Jesus.
