The story of a 36 year old man with a terrible skin affliction and dying of cancer. It chronicles the final 4 months of his life.
I'm so glad I watched this. Such a roller coaster of emotions, very uplifting one minute and incredibly gutting the next. He was constantly able to joke about his terrible condition, with a sense of humour I found commendable for someone facing such adversity.
Puts all trivial concerns into perspective, and reminds you what is really important in life.
This sort of thing is what televisions should be used for. If more people in the world were forced to watch such things, there would be far less prejudice in the world. And a lot more would be done to help those who are afflicted.
Anyone else see it?
I have so much respect for him and his family. It was painful to watch the changing of his bandages and his Mum said they did the one's on his back every week. Every week he had to go through that and still managed to keep his up-beat attitude. I cannot begin to imagine how painful it is to suffer that condition.
I think I'm always going to connect that Queen song with him and that documentary.
That man was a true hero in the sense of the word. I really don't think I could have stuck it out for so long against such horrible pain and adversity.
One of those things I am truly glad I didn't miss, and it's made me rethink just how unimportant my daily trivial concerns are.
Doh
From the bits I seen though it did seem like a truely horrible condition to live with but he made sure that he lived the hard life he had to the fullest.
Certainly makes you think.
Very very uplifting, I found it quite a nice thing to watch, and even though Jonny had gone through so much pain and suffering for so long, he lived his life to the fullest.
I think it was great that he allowed camera's to film his last 4 months of his life, it just proves to show that television is a good thing, showing how he lived with his affliction, and looked upon life with fondness.
Amazing story of such a courageous person, I doubt I would of gone through what he did
