Channel 4, just finished now.

The story of a 36 year old man with a terrible skin affliction and dying of cancer. It chronicles the final 4 months of his life.

I'm so glad I watched this. Such a roller coaster of emotions, very uplifting one minute and incredibly gutting the next. He was constantly able to joke about his terrible condition, with a sense of humour I found commendable for someone facing such adversity.

Puts all trivial concerns into perspective, and reminds you what is really important in life.

This sort of thing is what televisions should be used for. If more people in the world were forced to watch such things, there would be far less prejudice in the world. And a lot more would be done to help those who are afflicted.

Anyone else see it?

Watched the first bit, then watched Celtic vs. Barcelona. It was moving.

In the "bandages" scene, you could feel the pain he was going through, and doing that every single week must of been a real hard hitter for him. I can't imagine how hard it was for his mum.

I was on the brink of shedding a tear, but in a way, it actually made me smile at the end of it all. He wanted to acheive a lot of things in a space of 4 months, like making his funeral perfect and even learning to fly, and seeing that funeral actually happen showed he'd acheived what he wanted.

It amazed me on over all that pain and suffering, he could still see the funny side of it and used his sense of humour to its full extent.

When he was in London to visit the Blairs, you could see it in his eyes, he looked tired and was just saying "i've had enough".

It was a Uplifting, and dare I say it, amusing (the bit about 'w**king' :P) documentry on someone else who is less fortuanate then us, yet still lived his life to the fullest.

(not much was known about the condition, so Jonnys father tried a range of remedies from salt baths to fresh air)

"I can't remember if it was a good memory, but to this day I still am afraid of flies"

BBBrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

When you saw him after meeting the Blairs, it was heartbreaking yet uplifting, to see such a selfless act.

I was in tears when I saw the full extent of his condition, after the bandages were removed too.

I went for some beers. So it didn't really bother me.

It didn't move me as much as I thought it would actually. It flipped around a bit much. But then I'm not really in a very receptive frame of mind at the moment, I have a lot of things to worry about and unfortunately enough free time to worry about them.

It's rare that something can move you so much.

Like I say, the TV can be a great thing used properly, instead of all this crap reality show rubbish.

I watched it, and I'm glad I did. Although it was very odd. Kept flipping between two extremes, some of the time I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry. I nearly went at the funeral bit, and would have done if it had gone on much longer.

Me too, I feel honored to have been part, in a small way, of his last few months. It would be wrong to waste such motivation by not acting on it.

Again, me too.
