I take it votes that have been edited don't count in the final totals.

Would stop all the monkeys voting and then changing their votes towards the end just to suit who is in the running.

You can't 'delete' them as it will remove them from the thread and some people will just cast a new vote. It will cause too much work to check every vote in the thread against any deleted votes to ensure this didn't happen.

All they need to do is ignore / not count any edited, for any reason, posts.

Or even have a closed ballot type thing where people e-mail their votes.
