Nope.

Tried putting in various suggested DNS addresses and manged to get frozen out from logging in for about 12 hours.

Then buy a cheap router from the FAQ. Did they not work the last time? The line can't tell the difference, it'll sync and get all the info correctly. All you are ever going to need is addresses anyway, so BT don't need to "support" a router or modem to be able to supply that info. So much less hassle.

I'd have thought that setting the Gateway and DNS settings on the Xbox to the IP of the PC would have solved it. Bear in mind that it would need to be the internal IP of the PC. I.e. to BT your PC might be called something like 81.255.100.27 (the external IP) but to the Xbox the PC might be called 10.0.0.1 (internal IP).
