FM, i have that white column down the side of the page as well. I think its because of the resolution of my monitor.
If you put it down to 800x600 then you dont have the gap at the edge.

You know the curved red splat symbol top left? Is there any way you could make the top and left hand sides of that particular graphic match up with the top and left blue bars at the top and left of the screen?
It just looks a bit 'knocked out of place' if you know what I mean? The curve is ok though. I like the curve.

I like the border system it looks good.
Needs something in that white column on the right though, are you leaving that for something later on? You could take the bottom half of the links on the left hand side and put them on the right, that would make navigation easier.
