I got one of these free Mercury 10/100 Mbps ethernet cards today and I'm trying to install it onto a PC with Windows 98SE.

It's all in there, just I can't install any of the drivers because Windows can't find any of the smaller files on the disk even though it says it's found the driver and it's gonna install it.

Is there a driver that I could download off of the net to get it to work or am I stuffed?

Plus is connecting an XP to a 98 PC hard? I'm just looking around now, I know it isn't as easy as XP to XP!

I've made the network setup disk on XP and put it into the other PC, it keeps asking for that stupid disk though, I've put the 98SE disk in and the file doesn't exist.

It's stupid, how is it going to work when it's asking for files that don't work?

Stupid thing.
