Great. The left bar is much better...
But I still agree that perhaps the white background should go.
Perhaps you could set up the site with different colour backgrounds, load them on a page on the site, and then get us to vote which one is our favourite?
Just a suggestion, you don't have to change the background colour at all if you don't want to.

They only just changed it !
When I clicked on gameaday.co.uk the old design came back.
