I have been looking for a job for the past 5 weeks, loads a job interviews were for nothing and im always losing out to people out of school.

Depends. Where I am, if you're looking for short term work, maybe a year's contract, working late hours, then it's easy. You want full time employment - you're just one of thousands going for some 200 jobs.
