Why quote a whole song?

I often use a single line of a song as a screenname, just as it probably sums up my feelings at the time.

If you want some decent lyrics, compared to your crappy Punk Rock, Teen Angst lyrics, listen to Idlewild...

Why do some people only post the lyrics, no artist's name or even a track title, as opposed to others in this thread?

I would post the lyrics to Under the Bridge by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but, from the website I get them from (www.lyrics007.com), they appear to have a lot of it very wrong (like they did when someone earlier in this thread posted the WRONG lyrics to Fortune Faded).

I will tell you why I like these lyrics however...

It's because of where they came from, what the song is really all about.
You see, originaly, it started as a poem written by Antony Kiedis looking back on his own struggle with the addiction to cocaine (the same thing that killed Hillel Slovak and was to later ALMOST get John Frusciante).

I just think it's even more brilliant when you know why.
