Yes, I've had a skin full and am feeling mightily sentimental and empathic, but let's have your favourite songs, or just parts of the lyrics that speak to you .....

Okey dokey.

*sways with drunken-ness*

If I were to say to you
"Can you keep a secret?"
Would you know just what to do
Or where to keep it?
Then I say"I love you"
And foul the situation
"Hey girl I thought we were
The right combination"
Who broke my heart?
You did, you did
Bow to the target
Blame Cupid, Cupid
You think you're smart
Stupid, Stupid

Shoot that poison arrow to my heart
Shoot that poison arrow

No rhythm in cymbals
No tempo in drums
Love on arrival
She comes when she comes
Right on the target
But wide of the mark
What I thought was fire
Was only the spark
The sweetest melody
Is an unheard refrain
So lower your sights, yeah but raise your aim, raise your aim

Who broke my heart?
You did, you did
Bow to the target
Blame Cupid, Cupid
You think you're smart
Stupid, Stupid
I thought you loved me but it seems you don't care
I care enough to know I can never love you

Who broke my heart?
You did, You did
Bow to the target
Blame Cupid
You think you're smart
That's stupid
Right from the start
When you knew we would part

That's just your opinion. Ironically, you have posted a load of Def Leppard lyrics- they are a great band (I should know, I have their 1983 album 'Pyromania'), but their lyrics are nowhere as good as those of Dio. Plus, Ronnie James Dio has often written very fantasy-led lyrics- I wouldn't expect an untermensch such as yourself to acknowlege their quality. Kind of ironic, also, that one of Dio's guitarists, Vivian Campbell was one time in Def Leppard.

Anyhow, more of my favourite lyrics.

Diamond Head- 'The Prince' (Sean Harris/Brian Tatler)

Now I see his face, I've seen him smile
Such in a lonely place, no golden mile
His eyes tell morbid tales, of his black heart
His deeds through ages past, tell of his part

See his face, see his smile
Time to die

An angel from below, change my dreams
I want for glory's hour, for wealth's esteem
I wish to sell my soul, to be reborn
I wish for earthly riches, don't want no crown of thorns

See his face, see his smile
Time to die

I was born a fool, don't want to stay that way
Devil take my soul, with diamonds you repay
I don't care for heaven, don't you look for me to cry
And I will burn in Hell, from the day I die

See his face, see his smile
Time to die

Dio- 'Push' (2002)

You've ridden on a carousel
So you know the feeling
As the ring slips through your fingers

Sometimes you justify it
But there's the sword
And you're bleeding once again

Before you're in a corner
Can't crawl away
Here's a way to save you

You gotta push
Get out of my way and push
You can turn the wheel
Push
One more push

You're master of the broken heart
And so you know the feeling
As your soul starts going under
Sometimes you rectify it
Then out of the blue
The hammer falls again

Before you're in the water
Can't sail away
Here's a way to save you

You gotta push
Break the body down
Oh push
Out of my way I'll push
You better push

You gotta push
Hands against the wall
And push
Out of my way we'll push
You can turn the wheel
Go on and push

Metallica- 'Battery' (1986)

Lashing out the action, returning the reaction
Weak are ripped and torn away
Hypnotizing power, crushing all that cower
Battery is here to stay

Smashing through the boundries
lunacy has found me
cannot stop the Battery
Pounding out aggression
turns into obsession
cannot kill the Battery
Cannot kill the family
Battery is found in me
Battery

Crushing all deceivers, mashing non-believers
never ending potency
Hungry violence seeker, feeding off the weaker
Breeding on insanity

Smashing through the boundries
lunacy has found me
cannot stop the Battery
Pounding out aggression
turns into obsession
cannot kill the Battery
Cannot kill the family
Battery is found in me
Battery

Circle of Destruction, Hammer comes crushing
Powerhouse of energy
Whipping up a fury, Dominating flurry
We create the Battery

Smashing through the boundries
lunacy has found me
cannot stop the Battery
Pounding out aggression
turns into obsession
cannot kill the Battery
Cannot kill the family
Battery is found in me
Battery

I absolutly love this, just the tale of someone trying to get out of a relationship because his mum told him to.

Shop around - Smokey robinson and the miracles

When I became of age my mother called me to her side
She said, 'Son, you're growing up now, pretty soon you'll
take a bride".

Sings:

And then she said -
'Just because you've become a young man now
(Man, now)
There's still some things that you don't understand now
(Son, now)
Before you ask some girl for her hand now
(My son)
'Keep your freedom for as long as you can now'

My mama told me, 'You better shop around'
(Shop, shop around) a whoa-yeah
You better (uh-huh) shop around
(Shop-shop around)

Uh-uh-uh

''There's some things that I want you to know now'
(Uh-huh-ooo)
'A just as sure as the winds gonna blow now'
(Uh-huh-ooo)
'The women come and the women gonna go now'
(Uh-huh-ooo)
Before you tell 'em that you love 'em so now

My mama told me, 'You better shop around'
(Shop, shop around) whoa-yeah
You better (uh-huh) shop around
(Shop, shop around)

'A gotta get yourself a bargain son'
'Don't be sold on the very first one'
'Pretty girls come a dime a dozen'
'A-try to find one who's gonna give ya true lovin'
(Uh-huh-ooo)

'Before you take a girl and say 'I do, now'
(Uh-huh)
'A make sure she's in love a with you now'
My mama told me, ('you better shop around)

Instrumental

Oh-hey-hey-hey

(ooooh)
'Try to get yourself a bargain son'
'Don't be sold on the very first one'
(First one, first one)
A pretty girls come a dime a dozen
A try to find one who's gonna give ya true lovin'
(Uh-huh-ooo)

'Before you take a girl and say, 'I do' now' (uh-huh)
'Make sure she's in love with-a you now' (uh-huh)
'Make sure that her love is true now' (uh-huh)
'I'd hate to see you feelin' sad and blue now'

My mama told me, 'You better shop around'
(Shop, shop around)

Uh-huh don't let the first one get you'
(Shop, shop around)
Oh no, cuz I don't wanna see her 'wich-you''
(Uh-huh, 'before you let 'em hold you tight'
A yeah-yeah 'make sure she's alright'

Uh-huh, 'before you let 'em take your hand my son'
'Understand my son'
'Be a man my son'
'I know you can my son'
FADES-
I love it...a shop around

Beat it- Michael Jackson

1st Verse
They told him don't you ever come around here
Don't wanna see your face, you better disappear
The fire's in their eyes and their words are really clear
So beat it, just beat it
2nd Verse
You better run, you better do what you can
Don't wanna see no blood, don't be a macho man
You wanna be tough, better do what you can
So beat it, but you wanna be bad

Chorus
Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right
Just beat it, beat it
Just beat it, beat it
Just beat it, beat it
Just beat it, beat it

3rd Verse
They're out to get you, better leave while you can
Don't wanna be a boy, you wanna be a man
You wanna stay alive, better do what you can
So beat it, just beat it

4th Verse
You have to show them that you're really not scared
You're playin' with your life, this ain't no truth or dare
They'll kick you, then they beat you,
Then they'll tell you it's fair
So beat it, but you wanna be bad

Chorus
Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right
Chorus
Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right
Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it

Chorus
Beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right

Chorus
Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or who's right
Chorus
Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right

Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right
Just beat it, beat it
Beat it, beat it, beat it
