I fail to see how he'll get worse, or even stay the same, when he's got age on his side, he's in a side wich is consistently in Europe, and he'll gain the advantage of Premiership experience next season.

Owen himself has said he is off is Liverpool don't get CL at least...

No he hasn't! He's said that it would be severly damaging to Liverpool's hopes if they didn't get CL Qualification (or words to that effect). He also said that he wouldn't leave the Club on a Free, whatever happened.
Besides, I think Owen will stay for another season or two, even if he did end up leaving. This would allow Pongolle to blossom into the one of Europe's finest, under the playing guidance of players like Cisse and Owen ;)
(ABout Heskey; I said he was crap on MSN! Insulting Heskey's performances don't harm me, he should have been out of the Club ages ago. We should have shipped him off to Boro when we had the chance; but they seem to be doing good enough without him, as Tuesday night showed =P )
