I found out about this job on friday evening, e-mailed for an application form.
It'd have been posted monday, arrived today, and the closing date is noon on the 11th.
So assuming I have my dates right, I need to put it in the post, first class, before collection tomorrow and I'll be okay.

The job is to be a lifeguard until September.
I'm down to the 'Further Information' box, which has to be the deal-breaker, at least for insuring an interview.
I figure I can mention sports I play and being fit and healthy, though I'd probably better leave out my life-long admiration for Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff (in case they mistake it for a reference to porn and nightrider).

So, I don't have much time, but what can I say to make sure I get an interview?
This job sees me through until I start my masters, gives me a chance to get some money together and could be my only shot at avoiding a summer soul-destroying miserable labour.
So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, I thought about that approach, but if you really took those things so seriously you'd be applying for something a little more significant than a 3-4 month temporary lifeguard position. I'd expect so anyway.

Besides, I don't want to lie on my application :^D

Say that you are passionately comitted to helping and improving the lives of others and you feel this will be the perfect opportunity for you to help apply this passion to a work environment which demands the total dedication needed to the saving of lives as a lifeguard has to be.

Ok that's pretty poor but something along those lines can't be bad can it?

Also, I've just been looking through my old swimming badges and certificates (I never sewed them to stuff, in the naive belief that they were cool just as they were. Then again they'd have looked even more cheap and lame on swimming trunks).

Those enamel badges look pretty poor these days too. I used to think they were the nuts when I was a kid...

Which are best / worth mentioning?:
