When the PS2 came out, I was too young to get it myself so my parents did, but when the next consoles come out i'm gonna have to spend my own money on getting one.
But was it you or your parents paying for it?

At the end of the day you have to decide whether you want one when they come out and pay the higher price or wait until the price drops like it will. If a PS3 or Xbox2 comes out in November either this year or next I will be happy to pay £300 again, rather than wait 12 months to get one for £200. It is up to individual choice, I was happy to do it as I wanted one then not wait a year.

If the Xbox 2 comes out before Xmas in the UK then i'll wait for the January sales and get it much cheaper. I hope they release the consoles in Europe the same time they do in the USA.
Games that aren't published by Sony/Microsoft will probably cost £50 if they follow the pattern of previous launches.

On other forums I frequent, people were whining at the prospect of the games costing £40. Given that current games cost about £30, I think that's a pretty fair price, and I'd be willing to pay it.
Still, I'll wait a few weeks or so before getting my PS3, because I don't want an early model that scratches the discs or has a crap laser.

It was the same for XBox though, at the time they had no idea Microsoft would reimburse early buyers with games when the price dropped.
