Sometimg in the late afternoon or evening (I don't think it's the exact same time every week) my computer basically freezes up. I get booted off MSN, mouse responses become virtually zero, and keyboard responses incredibly laggy (up to a minute in lag). I end up having to hit the reset button, because if I try to reboot not only will it take me five minutes to get to and select 'shut down', but it takes a further 15 to do all the 'end program' boxes because nothing is responding.
So.... what the hell is causing this? Or more to the point, how the hell do I track it down and eliminate it without formatting and resinstalling everything?
I can't think of any obvious software I've got running. I've done virus checks (using AVG) and spyware checks (with Ad-Aware)and nothing comes up there either. Is there perhaps some kind of conflict with something else?
I guess it's possible I've got something checking for weekly updates and it's not compatible for some reason. Again though, how can I possibly narrow it down without checking everything?
Any ideas?
