My computer keeps having to shut down every few minutes due to some random system failure. It gives me 1 minute to stop everything I'm doing then restarts. It's really annoying because I'm trying to revise for two tests and I am doing past paper questions and reading over things on the net. Do any of you know what might be causing it or have an idea how to fix it? If it comes down I'll make a note of exactly what it says and post it here but any help you can give now would be much appreciated, thanks guys and gals.

It might catch and delete the virus you have.

For a quick virus fix try the free virus checker here.

I've been using it for 6 months and haven't been infected yet...it jumps on everything so far :)

Anyway I still, need help to fix it before it comes back. Preferably help that doesn't involve formatting the PC heh.

Nope never bought any antivirus software. I only have the stuff Microsoft XP keeps making me download. I did get an e-mail this morning though. It had an attachment so i opened the e-mail and it said "Read the attachment for details" but I couldn't open the attachment because their virus checker though it was a virus. I deleted the e-mail and left it but the problems did start after I opened that e-mail. I didn't download the attachment though...hmm wierd.

Sounds like a virus, possibly, MSBlast did this. Do you have antivirus software that is up to date?
