One thing has struck me like a bolt of lightning about these forums.

"Sides"

It seems to all be about taking "sides". In singular, independent arguments - fine. All arguments, more or less, basically have 2 or so sides.

But there seems to be some kind of running thing. Like some pathetic mass of playground kiddies.
Past confrontations lead to future side-taking, no matter the argument in the fray.

It's really, really stupid. And I really don't think very many people can claim not to have done this. Hell, I certainly know *I* can't.

So why can't everyone just get along, and take each subject/argument for what it is, and not take preducial sides?

I take a side if I agree with it. But really, if you state your point of view and it happens that others have also stated a similar point of view, you're going to look like you've taken a side.


And on the forum going crap:

It's General Chat. It always has been, it always will be. But this particular cloud of crappness will blow over soon. It's all happened before.

Of course we all take sides, it's human nature to ally yourself with friends and considering I don't know a man on earth who is universally friends with everyone ofcourse there are going to be other groups of friends. The word "sides" though is a bit strong, it sounds like we are going to war with each other when actually we are all just sticking up for our friends. We all know it's immature and can call the other "side" immature for starting it all we want but in the end we are all doing it. I don't have a specific side though because I amn't friends with anyone but Paradox from these forums. I just come online reply to a few faceless comments that I don't actually care about then come offline. I don't hate or like anyone. I treat everyone on here like they are AI and just say what I want because I can't be friends or enemies with what I don't know.
