I checked on this site in case some mistake had been made with the JE release and thats when I saw GunGriffon was out and in stock. Never heard of this coming out and don't know of any reviews of it (which is normally a bad thing). But besides it being a mech game, it also had Tecmo's name on the cover so I thought sod it, they've earned the benefit of the doubt and grabbed it.
Played the first mission and I think its pretty cool actually. Not the sexiest graphics ever, but its a fun shooter. Also XBox Live playable so I'll have to try that later. I picked up the last one in SR Basildon and my cousin picked up a copy in Gamestation.
I think anyone who picked up the likes of Phantom Crash all that time ago are the ones that will probably find plenty to like in this game. Its kinda like Steel Battalion, only with a normal controller.
Gonna go back to editing the bloody teams ansd players on Pro Evo to make them right. Yes I know I'm sad. ;-)

Steady on, I haven't even played with you in co-op yet. ;D
At least some form of dodge move to help avoid a lot of the oncoming attacks. Cause most attacks just seem to hit you no matter what cause of the splash damage and they're piloting the same kind of mechs you are.
So essentially you're fighting against enemies that are just as capable of smashing you up as you are them. Fair enough of course if you want realism, but then at least be consistant with it - no prat army or country is gonna be like "Wow, the whole of mankind depends on this mission being a success ! Thats why we're sending you in alone ! Oh...... but take that dribbling spasticated retard with you, he hasn't had a day out in ages, we'll dump him in a wheelie bin to assist you."
Co-op could be a serious blast though.
Can get very frustrating. Looks like it could be better in co-op, but then it helps if there are other players around.
You mentioned Phantom Crash, does it play at the speed of Phantom Crash or is it more of a Mech Assault affair?
