Pretty much confirmed news:

The Revolution will also be a wireless router for the home, connect broadband to it and it will allow nearby consoles to link and go online. Such as a DS for example.

Rumours:

Revolution will be VERY cheap, will be only a little more powerful than a Gamecube and vastly inferior to X-box 360 and PS3. There will be multiple controllers, touch screen, gyro and camera are all being touted.

If the latter is true then I told you Nintendo are gunning for a different market.

Oh yeah you're right, the analogue stick didn't change gaming at all.

Indeed.

Why shouldn't the Revolution be as powerful as the other consoles? I don't see what Ninty hope to gain by specifically saying that it won't be much better than the GC.

if the controller is the only revolutionary thing then that's a bit balls, because the N64 controller could be described as 'revolutionary' but people just went "oh cool analogue control *shrug*" and then stopped caring.

They're all online.
And excuse me for being cynical, but nothing relating to the new control system has appealed to me more than an actual controller with buttons on it.

To clarify that wasn't me expressing tigamilla's opinions, it was me quoting his message in reply to something else. And yeh, with the Cube, Nintendo seem to be crap at advertising as ever, although the DS launch has been well marketed I thought. Hopefully this will be the same with the Rev.

Ok perhaps bad wording... :-P

My personal and honest opinion is that Nintendo do make the best games on the planet. They just need to sort out their at times diabolical marketing machin, and realise that old school gamers such as myself WILL be expecting graphical and sound improvements to match the others, I don't give 2 hoots about HD this, HD that or DVD capabilities I just want a capable gaming machine from Nintendo.

I actually enjoyed Mario Sunshine the games for me are as good quality as I expect from Nintendo but we need a bit more to get more people to buy a Nintendo console.
