He's out for 3/4 weeks after twisting both his ankle and knee.

That means United have to do without Rio, Mickey, G.Neville (Banned for 4 Games)

*Cries*

Spare a defender anyone?

It looks like Wes Brown is set to continue at centre back aswell:

Ys, but who bought those players and surveyed their development over the last few years?

If they can't do the job, that is his fault really. He's been given the time and the money to rebuild the squad from the base, and he has. It's just still not very good...

I have to admit, as amusing as it is, I do feel a little sorry for Houllier.

Liverpool go out of the cup to Portsmouth and people are calling for his head. But is it his fault?

Particularly in the first game at Anfield, Liverpool created numerous chances to score goals and completely stuff them. So, Houllier's team selection and tactics were obviously working.

The fault lies with the players who couldn't take those chances.

Once the team takes to the pitch, it's in their hands, not the managers. They were executing Houllier's plan to perfection, creating chance after chance.

I think the fingers should be pointing to the players, not the manager.

Leave Owen alone, he's got a great record this season - I believe it's the first time someone has missed so many open goals in a long time ;)

Hold on, on account of how Liverpool are playing, and how long he's been injured, I think he's had a good goal-ratio this season =)

Least he's actually scoring this season. The only impressive thing about Owen this season is how he didn't cry when he hurt his leg
