Before DVDs came along there was VHS. I never bought a single movie on VHS, my brother only bought 3 (SE Star Wars) and my younger brother about 10 (a mix of 80ies films like Planes, Trains & Automobiles and Red Dwarf).

But now we seem to buy DVDs all the time, collectively we have just under 200 DVDs now and we buy atleast 1 DVD a week as a family. (we used to rent a lot but we dont anymore and the nearest cinema is 30 minutes drive away). I guess it is good news for the television and film industries. Anyone else noticed that they're buying more DVDs than they did VHS?

My recent DVD purchase was Donnie Darko Prism Edition. At a very nice price of £4.99 to encourage those who wouldnt have bought the film otherwise, despite having no special features. It's a very interesting and unusual film nothing like I've seen before.

I also pre-ordered a DVD boxset. Most of you are too young and would probably confuse it with the awful Matt LeBanc movie that came out years ago. It's the Lost In Space Series 1 boxset. 8 DVDs, 31 episodes, a collective running time of 23 hours and 42 minutes (possible marathon attempt?) At a nice price of £39.99 "DANGER! DANGER WILL ROBINSON!!"

Anyone else buy anything on DVD lately?

8mm & pre-ordered Star Wars Trilogy

Both of those will take me to my 98th DVD although we've got more than that in the house.

It's not that difficult really:

Get in from school/college/work, watch DVD.

Bought my 246th DVD yesterday and I've managed most of them more than once. Will be watching the newer ones this week and next cos' I'm off from work. But it depends on what I have going on from week to week, sometimes I won't have chace to wacth a thing, others I'll do nothing but.

Either way I'm not gonna stop buying them.
Roll on September 20th!!

Well we have over 200, I think of those I've seen about 180. It helps that the DVDs are shared between 5 people so they all end up getting watched.

Some of the new ones tend to get watched several times, like School of Rock, I ended up seeing for the 3rd time right now. I guess I like to watch things while I work.

I cant speak for people like Mystique or Ms NY who probably own more than me. Wonder how much they end up watching again and again.

The question is, do any of you actually have time to watch your DVD's more than once?

I've got a pretty small collection compared to some of you insane DVD buyers and god knows I can't find the time to watch half of them more than once.
