ARSENAL may get to keep the FA Cup if they make it a hat-trick of wins this year.

FA chiefs are meeting to discuss the plan and a decision will be made before the semi-finals.

Arsene Wenger’s men must first beat Liverpool or Ports mouth away in the last eight next month.

And Soho Square insiders believe it will give the Cup a massive boost if the Gunners have an added incentive to become the first club since Blackburn in 1886 to win three finals in a row.

But the FA Cup committee must first scrap one of their oldest rules. Wanderers could have kept the trophy after their third win in 1878 but gave it back on condition it was NEVER won outright.

Arsenal have already seen off Chelsea, Middlesbrough and Leeds this term.

And Dutch star Dennis Bergkamp said: "No one can say we don’t deserve it if we win the FA Cup again."

But Gunners will have to progress without Ray Parlour.

The midfielder is out for up to six weeks after scans confirmed he strained knee ligaments in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Chelsea.

But Freddie Ljungberg could be back for Saturday’s Premiership clash with Chelsea after three games out with a rib injury.

Yup.

But then he's been our own version of Darren "Sick Note" Anderton this season - almost constantly injured with one thing or another.

No doubt he'll be back to score against United, though - either in the Premiership or if we meet them in the FA Cup. He always does. :-)
