Mini Cooper (new model)
Citroen C2 VTR
Seat Ibiza (new model)
So which would you choose and why?
Also anyone own ay of them, what you think of them?
I sadly don't have the choice...yet, thinking of getting a new car at the moment and these are the ones shortlisted.
Cheers
With the seat, the 1.2(0-60 15secs) and the 1.4 (0-60 13 secs) are useless. In comparison to say the Corsa 1.2 which does 0-60 in 12 secs.
But the 1.9tdi sport looks like a really good balance between economy and performance.
I'd never think of buying a mini myself. I love BMW but just hate everything to do the mini. But cant argue with the cooper doing 0-60 in under 10 seconds and still doing over 40mpg. Would have expected bigger than 15" alloys on it though.
1.6 C2 performance wise is on par with the cooper and does an extra mile for every gallon as well.
Looks alone i'd go for the ibiza, but performance wise one of the other two.
Personally, I've just ordered an Astra SXi 2.0DTi with the irmscher styling pack to replace my Corsa SXi which i will pick up on March 1st on an brand spanking new 04 plate! They have a list price of just under £15k but i'm getting it for just over £9K thanks to my dad working for vauxhall. Also very chuffed to be getting £6500 for my Corsa in part exchange considering we got it for £6300!
:D
Got a booklet through this morning about the citroen VTR and the GT, they offer free insurance for a year too with them which seems quite good.
If forced to choose, it'd be the Mini ... I think.
Went to see the mini last week and got side tracked by the Cooper S works parked beside it... Looked a nice car but there is little room in the back and a tiny boot.
But thinking what the car is going to be used for I don't see the need for a huge space in the back, ain't going to be going long distances in it with 4 adults.
Looked at the C2 GT and the VTR the other day and to be honest they did look better than I thought, look a bit odd from pictures. Small in the back too .
Got quite a lot of magazines with info and pros and cons for the cars. Just wanted to see what other peoples views of the cars were.
The Mini is a bit pointless unless you have the power of the Cooper S.
The Ibiza is nowhere near as good as the Cupra Leon, but that's probably going to be out of your reach like the Cooper S.
What exactly do you want out of your car? MPGs, looks, speed, cost, modification etc?
When you decide on your car, stay away from places like Carcraft and The Car People - they're only out for your money so you get less for it.
If you go to a dealer, you can get almost anything you want because they genuinely DO want your business. If I had gone for a 206 a couple of months ago, I could have got the free insurance, upgraded alloys and headlight conversions for free. Tell them what you want - they'll most likely do it.
Or you could go used - save a lot of money on the car = more money for insurance/petrol and mods (if you want to add that personal touch to your motor).
Buy the Top Gear mag - there's coverage of almost every car in the UK in the back of there. Take a look and compare.
FINALLY, I've said it befor, I'll say it again - look at www.carhound.com and you'll save a few grand and probably get up to 2 years free insurance chucked in too.
Hope that helped (even though I kind of went off on one!).
Go for a Mibiza or an Ibini.
Whichever has the biggest backseat...
Yey.
Miniminimnini.
I got lost in that last one, but you get my point.
Write in to Top Gear or something. They replied to me once.

And that's a guess at the URL by the way.
