Absolutely stupid. They're supposed to be critics?

Donnie Darko - 21. Ridiculously high.
Casablanca - 46. Ridiculously low.

Oh, and number one and two? Drum roll please...

1. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
2. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

Someone needs to be shot.

EMPIRE has to appeal to the younger student public though. People between around 15 years old. After that many regular film goers movie fanatics are supposed to evolve and go on to more "hard core" movie mags like Sight And Sound. Less glossy pictures of celebs with a small caption about their latest film to disguise the fact that it is actually a picture from HELLO. Basically EMPIRE isn't all it's cracked up to be which I have realised after buying it for over a year now ritually. I too notice how they often put films like that at the top of lists which is clearly to appeal to younger audiences who haven't even heard of Casablanca and so on.

They were great, but they don't stand out in my memory as the best films ever.

Agreed, Fellowship is by far the best of the three.

1,3,8 and 9 are the only films in the top 10 that should be booted out, they're great films, but not top 10 stuff.

What is it with peoples obsession with Donnie Darko... it was good but not 'OMG GREAT FILM!!!!!'

Thatt's always the way with poles voted for by the public - you can't please all of the people all of the time.

I totally disagree, i dont think you are taking into consideration what a massive achievement it was putting the lord of the rings into a film that is actually bloody good.

I must admit, whenever I read these top 100's I only do so out of curiousity about what is been said about the movie.

I usually like to make my own mind up, and not be told what the best movie of all time is.

The brainless masses are idiots, LOTR are great films, but don't deserve such high ratings. It's a case of "Every reasonably good new film that comes out is THE BEST FILM IN THE WORLD EVVA!!!!111"
