Latest news on Metroid for the GBA is that it WON'T, that's will not, be a port of the SNES version.

It will be an entirely new game.

Now the question is, will it work in conjunction with the GameCube version?
Imagine taking Samus on a few side quests whilst sitting on the bus, getting home and uploading her newly aquired items and strengths onto your GameCube game! Wouldn't that be fun!

How about using the GameBoy Advance as a tracking device whilst playing the GameCube game. Think of the film Aliens, with the little dots and the beeps as the enemy grows closer. You can tell from your tracker that the enemy is close, but why can't you see it? Suddenly it bursts through a wall, you jump out of your seat and the tracker beeps like crazy. You've got just enough time to compose yourself, and fire at it like crazy, before another one bursts in!

The GameBoy Advance could easily be used for something as basic as this, and it would add to the atmosphere of the game no end.

I really hope Nintendo take advantage of all of the possibilities here!

Crafty.

So Bill Gates will bring out the X-Box, and then he'll bring out an OS that you can use on your PC that lets you upload X-Box game items to the PC game that you are playing.

I can see it now....

OS?> X-Box
X-Box OS initiated...
?> Upload
Port?> USB
USB initiated...
?> Upload
File Type?> X-Box mem1
File Not Found...
File Type?> X-Box mem2
File Upload Complete...
?> Run

?> Help
?> /Help
?> damn...

I've just read an article on ign regarding GameCube, GBA link up, and they too mentioned Metroid. Their example was simply being able to transfer items such as keys, between the games.

They did make a few decent points though. The GBA will sell by the bucketload. It sold hundreds of thousands of units on it's first day of release.

If Nintendo promote the GameCube and GBA link up properly, many people will buy the GCN simply because they already have the GBA, just to see it used to it's full potential.

A GBA will makes it's way into millions of homes and a bit like a trojan horse, Nintendo will launch their GameCube assault, already having the advantage of people already owning a major accessory.
