Been playing for about a year but not really as good as I should be by now.
Looking for some good songs that are fairly easy to play, my mind has gone blank on what decent guitar tunes there are that sound simple enough to play, so I ask for your help.
May as well discuss other guitar stuff here to if need be.
thanks

I'll second that. Erm, in my opinion.

good choices!
the Thrice version of "Send me an Angel" is dynamite. a great song done in a great way...
s**till, if you're not in a band then s**tart one because to keep a 100w s**tack at home is criminal.

i didn't say you were, if you were a worse player for learning harder s**tuff then i'd be amazed. i learnt the same way as you, learning shred and dexterous s**tuff firs**t as well, but to learn that INSTEAD of learning rythm techniques would make you quite limited in your scope.

oh dear...
old or not, it's one of THE guitar pieces to know!!
it's not one of my favourite songs either but i'm quite sure all the people who wander into guitar shops jus**t to play the intro to Lithium don't love it either.

no, you said; "None of that was helpful but I feel I've made a difference.", which is a different thing entirely. if you were informing people not to lis**ten to you , what you should've put was "don't lis**ten to me"
easy eh?

*lol* Bon bloody Jovi...
this from the man who considers "Funeral for a friend" to be complicated?
*pats you on the head*
check your guitar again..
that's right...
see those frets pas**t the 7th?? well you can use those too! ;)
The "oldies" are the best.
But you all probably think Poison the Well and Nu-metal bands just do nothing but scream. Fair enug.
Bear in mind that a Marshall is designed for those "whiny" bands. Richie Sambora uses Marshalls. And the only two players who ever got a signature Marshall amp were Slash and Zakk Wylde. Both old style.

There was a Hendrix edition as well :)

Placebo, Muse, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park.
all RECENT bands that are whiney as all hell...

Poison the Well are really good, infact, i like all the bands you've mentioned so far (bar Bon Jovi :) ). i'm in a hardcore band and i love that kind of stuff (actually i like things a little faster and heavier than that but it's definately up there), but it's not as complicated as you implied it was. So to say "all they are is noise" is wrong, but nor are they musical milestones.

Valid points you make. . . luckily I like none of those bands. Placebo are ooookay. Was classic at Reading 2003 when the bassit knoced over the guitarist/singer though. Bloody hilarious stuff.
And although Staind's guitarists kit blew up or wasn't working, they still did an awesome set.
