It looks like Setanta Sports are taking over the rights to ALL WWE PPVs which means we will have to pay for the lot of them.
They have signed a one year deal to take control of them.
I think this means all PPVs over here for this year are PPV for us too.
See its NEVER a good thing to start shreiking when we dont get one. Sky got p'd off, someone sees a money making opportunity and then this **** happens.
I hope anyone who kicked up a stink about us loosing one PPV here and there are happy with this."

I'm not so sure it is a bad thing. I mean, people will be saying "oh we don't get to see it live so we shouldn't pay" but really, we've had it for free for ages anyway.
It doesn't actually affect me, I stopped watching WWE a long time ago. And if I like the look of a PPV, I download it.
At least we're guarenteed a decent service.
BTW, Royal Rumble full 30-min previews have started on Sentanta. Pretty good, better then the five minute crap we got before.
Errr...discuss.

Luckily before I hit post, I found this:
"Irish broadcaster Setanta Media acquired the rights to broadcast World Wrestling Entertainment PPVs in Great Britain and Ireland, according to releases sent out in Ireland today. Setanta Media is a subsidiary of Setanta Sport, which is a huge closed circuit satellite broadcasting company.
Sentanta has signed a one year deal (not sure on the price they paid for the rights), taking over the rights previously held by BSkyB. Sky One and Sky Sports will still air regular WWE programming in the same markets.
Setanta already announced they will be carrying the Royal Rumble on PPV on 1/25. The rights to several PPV events which were not set to air on Sky in the UK were up in the air, leaving British fans in the cold to this point.
I expect there will be a press release regarding this tomorrow from WWE. One report out of Ireland listed WWE as owned by "ex-wrestler Vincent McMahon."

As long as they were free, I'd happily see Sentanta take over RAW, Smackdown, Heat and Velocity. And aquire Confidential whilst they're at it.
Still, no official word just yet.

Hyarr no.

Hmm... Could I have them for free?
Pweeese!

Some program which enables downloading .torrent files. Confusing crap. Ask Shaneo, he knows most about it.
Oh, and we all knew this day would come soon.
I'm not surprised Sky sold the rights to be honest. The news I heard was WWE wanted every PPV sold to the UK viewers while Sky wanted to show for free to Sky Sports subscribers. Obviously, no agreement could be made so Sky sold the rights.
I'd like to think that Sky will try and renegotiate when the WWE are willing to give a little to the UK viewers.
Setanta, an Irish broadcaster, eh? Well, being Irish, they should at least supply a free service to us Paddys!
I am hoping somebody with a faster connection than 56k(bah) will at least send me WM on DVD.............(cough)
Drat and dang.

1gb roughly (WMXX will be 1.5-2gb) and from Suprnova.org (requires BitTorrent)

Why are you blaming this on WWE? Sky sold it to Sentanta, now WWE.
