I just finished watching trainspotters and damn it was good.
So it made me wonder all english made films that I have seen are bloody brilliant so what about american films?
Are they all quantity over quality?
What other films have you seen that are not from england or america that are brilliant?

My mum says the same thing about some of their food and other products.
Quantity over quality.

No, it's just a bit where they're walking past a school. Or, well, you don't see that it's a school in the film. But it is.

Yah.

To be honest, I find British films are either very good, or completely poor. For example I loved Trainspotting, Dog Soldiers, Lock Stock, Snatch etc. and they're all British. Most other British films I have seen are naff. US/UK films are in different leagues in my opinion, could almost be seen as another genre of film lol.

We make fewer films, and in a desperate attempt to try and convince ourselves and the world that we don't actually suck at film making, and in an attempt to relive the glory days of British film, we hold up sub standard films as excellence, all of which are firmly based in reality because anything else is beyond our budget or ability. In addition, we'll try and claim, on the thinnest of evidence, films are British.
