My playlist consists of songs which nobody on this forum ever seems to speak about. Probably because it is God-like, and can't be discussed by you inferior people. *Ahem*

Anyway, here it is (respectively);

Red Morning Light - Kings of Leon - This will disappear when I get the album probably. Top quality song is this.

River Boogie Woogie - Jools Holland - Crap name, but phenomenally played. Hence the Jools Holland thread I made, where we can all pray to him together.

Promises Promises - Cooper Temple Clause - Possibly one of the... strangest band names I've come across. Discovered this song from FIFA '04, and only recently "accquired" it.

We Used to be Friends - The Dandy Warhols - I'm getting bored of this now, although is seemed like a good idea at first. Infact, I'm going to delete it. So by the time you've read this, it will be non-existent, and this thread will be out of date.

Layla - Do I need to say who? - Excellent. All that needs to be said really.

Vegas Two Times - The 'phonics - Superb song, probably one of my faves on my list.

Maybe Tomorrow - Phonics again - Nice, mellow-like song. Like it more everytime I listen to it. There's just something great about it.

Bad Love - Clapton again - I lovvveeee the solo-ish part towards the end. Top quality song.

Come on Feel the Noise - Slade - EVERY playlist should have a Slade song, and probably this one too. This song has a superb solo, probably enough to rival with the best, although it isn't really known for it. I'll upload it sometime for you to hear or something.

She Sells Sanctuary - The Cult - You see the song title and think, "Soppy crap", then you see the band name. They level each other out really. Pretty good, upbeat tempo rock song. Nice.

The Chain - Fleetwood Mac - Thanks to GP for this. Well known for its guitarry bit at the end, when it was used for F1 long ago. Another one of my faves.

In Between Days - Erm, God knows - I only have this for the intro. It's the one off that car ad. I'm going to make a topic about this soon actually.
*******

From then on, it's a bucket load of guitar + drumkit songs for practising me drumming - I just sit and listen and drum on my comp desk.

Oh, and my playlist is pretty much set up in the way that, when I "accquire" a new song, it goes to the top-ish. Then it gets deleted after a few days usually - eg, We Used to be Friends.

Just shows how good the ones lower down are then, eh?

And if anyone contests a single song on this list, I'll hit them. Apart from We Used to be Friends - slate that all you like - it doesn't exist anymore.

Of all the Vai songs you ignored When I Was A Little Boy off of Fire Garden!

As for Satriani I would pick A Train Of Angels. It just seems to encapsulate everything about him.

I Like Rock is funny as anything. Although Metal Dog is my fav Gilbert song.

You have good taste.

Wow, that was longer than every other post I've written in the last year combined. I think my activity has declined.

I don't really have a playlist as such, I tend to stick on one artist at a time and listen to a few tracks, but I do always choose the first, so I'll nominate those as a playlist and ramble a little about the current top picks.

Lee Cave-Berry - It makes me happy. Female singer/songwriter/bassist in Cambridge who I've seen playing in the Boat Race a few times - the album's got a bit of everything, and has loads of guest appearences from other boat race regular, so a good local thing. Track itself has just kept me smiling for a few days

Bowes & Morley - Sick and Tired. Singer and guitarist of Thunder's little side project, very nice it is too. Lots more ballads on the album as a whole, but this has a bit of a faster tempo and a nice solo

Thin Lizzy - Cowboy Song/Boys are back in town. Always listen to these in a pair, as it's taken off the Live and Dangerous album and the change between them is so smooth...songs themselves are good too, memorable riffs aplenty

Whitesnake - Give me all your love. Mainly because it reminds me of the video, which I then feel compelled to go and watch - oh the hair, dnacing, twirling...so 80s :D Aside from that, strong beat, very bouncy.

Bad Company - Bad Company. Because it reminds me of something from when I was much younger, and I'm still trying to work out what. Love the track too, builds up.

Dire Straits - Once upon a time in the west. Love it. Very hard to pick out just one track, it can be this, communiqué, private investigations, romeo and juliet, hundreds of others...

Fuel - Shimmer. I went off Fuel a while ago, but heard this somewhere the other day and it reminded me how much I like it. Need to get hold of the new album at some point, anyone heard it?

Somerset West - By The Shore. Fantastic local band, their album release sounded so professional and their gigs are always superb. That, and we've nicked one guitarist to take part in our own venture :D They're all great guys, shame it's on hold while they're at uni, but they're been approached by a few people..

Levellers - Four Winds. Off the latest album, I've always particularly liked this track. Another one that builds up in to a nice big sound, and has always been good live too - if not quite getting up the atmosphere of One way of life, 100 years of solitude etc.

Thunder - Stand Up. Bit heavier than most thunder offerings, keep listening to it after seeing the video on a DVD though. I think you should forget, and go out with her sister insteeeaaaad.... etc =)

Tonnes more, but I want sleep, so I'll stop. Matchbox 20 (If you're gone), Stevie Ray Vaughan (Texas Flood), Iron Maiden (Infinite Dreams), Steve Vai (Juice), Joe Satriani (Friends), Paul Gilbert (I like rock) and Deep Purple (highway star) would all otherwise follow..
