English teacher's r starting 2 get worried about recent examples of bad English cropping ^ in their pupils' work.
They blame txt mssging, online discussion boards and online gaming 4 the more frequently occuring traits apparent in written work handed in by the pupils, who more and more r tending to use 'netspeak' as part of their normal language.

The 10dency 2 replace the word 'to' with '2', words like 'mate' and 'anyone' being replaced with 'm8' and 'ne1', r just some examples of what school children r inserting in2 their essays.

Be4 we know it, netspeak will have integrated itself in2 our written and spoken language, and English as we know it will have died out al2gether.

It must stop now, b4 it's 2 l8.

That is a good idea, but I do have a mate that does that and he says he will be getting rid of his contact chip because he cannot afford to pay double the phone costs.

Im tempted to get a pay as you go SIM card for my phone as well. I use all of my free minutes each day, but it costs too much to ring in the daytime, or send texts.

Back to the original topic - I can't stand text messaging! Why spend five minutes pressing number keys to slowly make words, when you can just call the person, and speak to them instantly?
