I've been using Firebird 0.7 for a few days now, and I have to say I'm truly impressed. The main advantage over IE is the tabbed browsing, but it also loads equally as fast as IE, despite having 20+ plugins installed. Try it everyone.

I've been following Firebird/Phoenix since 0.1. It's good, but I prefer the Mozilla suite (even though I only use the browser).

You can change the google/gg thing by modifying the the bookmark entry in Quick Searches.

Firebird is nice and I especially like the search bar, especially with a bunch of plugins for amazon, ebay etc from mozdev.org.

On a smugger note, I was using Firebird when it was a mere 0.2 and still called Phoenix. I even posted here about it and was met with...deafening silence. Sob.

Don't forget quick searches.

type "google some search terms" into Firebird and see what happens.

I shortened mine to "gg" on mozilla.

OK not that good an example. However, can you scroll between web pages just being using your mouse wheel? Nope, you need Alt + Tab. Anyway, all the improvements don't dound that impressive over IE at first, but they make a significant difference.

Can IE copy a link from a browser, then paste and simultaneously go to that site all by using just two shortcuts? Ohhh no. And there are other little timesavers, all brilliant to use, only problem is the time saved is probably wasted here justifying its greatness.

Firebird's very good, but being a Mac user I use Safari.

I've just counted and I have 6 browsers installed on my system ...

Na, it's crap.

IE and a Google toolbar and you're sorted. You don't need anything else.

Plus most sites are designed with IE in mind so they look better, you occasionally get sites which just don't work at all in Mozilla.

Like mine!

Well, all the plug ins are installed.

And it crashed just now - nothing to do with the plug-ins, though I did put it under severe load (15 tabs, real player streaming video) Still worth it though, muchos better than IE
