Far better if he, and others like him, were still alive and specialists allowed to work with them to find out why they did what they did, I don't accept that triggers for such actions are solely based on an event or childhood alone because if that were the case there should be far more people like him around.
But no, we'll have our ever popular enquiries, a report costing tens of thousands, and nothing will change, and it'll happen all over again sometime. Same with Huntley and Carr, a major point missed by most of the media who have called for all people working with children to be checked is that they were both checked anyway! Even in Huntley's case he was never convicted, and whilst it is fine in hindsight to say it was obvious he had a serious problem, the fact remains he was never ever convicted or found guilty.
