Good stuff.
But no, we'll have our ever popular enquiries, a report costing tens of thousands, and nothing will change, and it'll happen all over again sometime. Same with Huntley and Carr, a major point missed by most of the media who have called for all people working with children to be checked is that they were both checked anyway! Even in Huntley's case he was never convicted, and whilst it is fine in hindsight to say it was obvious he had a serious problem, the fact remains he was never ever convicted or found guilty.
For what he did, he deserved to suffer the FULL `Life-Sentance´ he was given. Suicide allowed him to get-out (or so, we can only assume...).
Like what some people have said, he should have been monitored by security, 24/7, so that this could've been prevented and stopped.
What's the point in giving someone like him a life-sentance if they're still going to have the chance to escape?!?

all that sounds DANGEROUSLY close to the public rabble spectacle of medieval punishment.... although the guy was obviously a huge $hit, it's not quite as progressive as it could be ;)

We can bring our dirty-faced, confused and frightened kids with us and scream "Muuuuuuuurderer!" and "Pedlo scuuuuuum!" at the same time, that'll help the victims!

You need a hell of a lot of balls though.
