We need a new team
By CHARLIE WYETT

TONY ADAMS is considering his future as Wycombe boss — after just 11 GAMES in charge.

The former England and Arsenal defender has suffered a nightmare start in management with just two wins so far and reckons he needs virtually an entirely new team to stop the rot.

Wycombe remain rooted to the foot of Division Two and Adams has already fallen out with a number of senior players.

The Gunners legend admitted: “I’m going to have to sleep on it and think about my future.

“OK, I don’t know my best 11. I don’t know my best five at the moment. You have to own up here and say some of the guys are not good enough.

“I need to bring in players, that’s evident. Those here aren’t doing it.

“We need a goalkeeper, right-back, maybe a centre-half, left-back, a couple of midfielders and a couple of forwards.

“There’s pressure at all levels. I was under no illusions when I walked into this club that they were bottom for a reason and they are still bottom for a reason.

“You tell me when this squad has been on good form. They have been patchy and inconsistent.”

Adams, 37, became manager after Lawrie Sanchez was axed and is on £120,000 a year.

He started with a 4-1 FA Cup romp against Swindon on November 8 but has managed only a league victory against Bournemouth since then.

After the 4-0 Boxing Day thrashing by Brighton, Adams made five switches for Sunday’s home game against Rushden — and lost 2-0.

He controversially axed club captain Michael Simpson, last season’s player of the year, along with flair player Darren Curry and brought in three 17-year-olds.

But Wycombe, with just three league wins all season, were booed off as they flopped again.

Yarr. Wycombe had better give Adams some dosh to spend in the January Sales.

Oh, and why he dropped Simpson and Currie is beyond me. Currie is probably our best midfielder at the moment.
