Is there anything I can buy to make my dvd player play Region 1 (American) dvd's, like I know you can get those disks for the PS2 so you can play imported dvd's on them - but I dont know about actual DVD players.
it plays mpegs and mp3s and even has a jpeg viewer but I am convinced it doesnt have multi-region capibilites.

Some DVD players allow you to enter a handset hack (Type a code in with the remote and allows you to change what region DVD's your player will play)
Others allow you to upgrade the firmware, download the program, burn it onto a disk and run it in the player.
You can also chip some players.
Then there are others that don't allow any change to the player.
