Is there anything I can buy to make my dvd player play Region 1 (American) dvd's, like I know you can get those disks for the PS2 so you can play imported dvd's on them - but I dont know about actual DVD players.

it plays mpegs and mp3s and even has a jpeg viewer but I am convinced it doesnt have multi-region capibilites.

Silly machines and unspecific manual.

Yay, worked, well I got a confirmation anyway.

I dont actually have any Region 1 dvd's yet, I didnt want to get any until I had a means of playing them.

The dvd menu said "Region = 0" though, so I assume it works now.

You don't, just try a region 2 dvd then a region 1 dvd and see if it works.
