Gus poyet has expressed his fury at no longer being the youngest player in the team. actually, In fairness to spurs they are doing a better job this season, although they have collapsed they are making some encouraging signings for there fans. If the stories of a 15 mill budget are true for the transfer window it should really all go into buying a midfield. Brown is a god start, and they already have davies. Sean Davis is probably there best option, he blatantly still wants to leave fulham and 4-5 mill should do the trick. Or they could try and sign petit of chelsea as he would cost very little and would be solid for a couple of seasons till they can find a better option due to improved position or player availability. I then suggest a Bobby robson style raping of the 1st division youth systems (awaits g glitter jokes)with Notts forest order of the day. Andy Reid and Dawson the players they should buy. And then we have a spurs that could start performing with european pretensions.
I'm hoping Davis and Mendes will be good for us, they should be.
Matthew Etherington was a top class player. I cannot beleive we got rid of him. Sure, he went as part of the Kanoute package, but couldn't we have payed that little bit more an kept him? He was our only good left sided player, and dare I say it, he was bringing out the best in Tarrico. they had a good little partnership going on there.
Helder Postiga, Matthew Etherington, Gustavo Poyet, Bobby Zamora...
Weren't these all regarded as "good players" before they arrived at White Hart Lane, too?? :)
Infact, the only 2 good-signings who have proven to be THAT-GOOD are Robbie Keane and Freddie Kanouté; the 2 players Spurs cannot go without, right now.
But seriously, with Redknapp out of the picture, Brown could become quite the signing with a, sort of, "hole" developing in the heart of Spurs' midfield. But only time will tell...
> he has signed a PRE contract and is moving jan 1st!
Its ok michael.... there's still hope....
HE is a good little player who should fit in really well, even if he doesn't its only 500k, and more than worth a gamble!
There's always time to reject spurs.....
