By saying this you mean you are not allowd to drink in resturants and pubs which are both public.

Public houses are public - Probably why thier called Public Houses really.

You do realise that drinking in a public place is in fact illegal, no matter if you are legaly old enough to drink under most uk bylaws don't you?
